"I found this bird ball under the wall of the building. Their dispute was over the ownership of a hole in the wall. I was holding the camera in one hand, and with the second I tried to disengage the fighting birds. Once one of the swifts unhooked and flew away, the second switched to my hand and continued the fight with me. Yes, it hurts. Yes, that's my blood. Swifts have very strong though small legs, and very sharp claws. They fought so desperately that it seemed they might well kill each other. They didn't notice anything else around. I couldn't release the second swift with one hand, so I had to pause the camera and decouple it with the other hand. Then he flew away safely. Crazy, not cute harmless birds!"

Jon's front tooth was loose for what seemed like months. It hung on and was getting to be troublesome for Jon when eating. Jay and Jon talked about ways they could help the tooth along. Jon has a recurve bow that he's been learning to shoot. Together, they decided to try it out. Ultimately, it was Jon's decision. This was actually his third try though. The tooth was ready, but we had to do some experimenting to get the string to hold. When the tooth came out, it was flung into the grass. Jay and Jon searched and searched, but couldn't find it. An hour later, Jon's brother, Amos, came running inside, tooth in hand. "I found the tooth!" he said. It has been fun for the whole family.
